On November 10th, Trenton will host its first ever Half Marathon, nicknamed the “Double Cross,” that will span 13.1 miles, incorporating the Capital District, Waterfront area, Trenton Thunder Baseball Stadium and two bridges, including the World Famous “Trenton Makes the World Takes” Bridge to Pennsylvania. The event will begin at 7:45am at the Trenton Thunder Stadium and parking will be available at the Sun Bank Center.
This positive Trenton event will highlight some of the most scenic portions of Trenton via a course that is designed for runners. The course will begin with a tour of the historic district, then cross the “Trenton Makes” bridge into PA and then back over the Calhoun Street Bridge. Next, runners will go through the Cadwalader Park, head back into the Capital District and end up in the Mercer County Waterfront Park.
The Half Marathon registration fee is $100 and the Kids 10K registration fee is $65. There is also a Kids Fun Run for children under the age of 12 that is $15. For more information and to register, visit http://www.trentonhalf.com/.
The race is also actively seeking volunteers for the day of the race to assist with water stations and giving medals to finishers at the end of the race. Please contact Carl at 609-452-8411 x117 for information on how and where to arrive on Saturday to volunteer.
